Trembling with the gun firmly in her hand, Claire Bennet
raised it to aim at her uncle, Peter Petrelli. "Please tell me
there's another way!" She cried out, trying to stop her hand
from shaking. The man facing her with his hands radioactively
burning shook his head but kept his distance. "Shoot me," he
said simply. "There is no other way."
As the words escaped his mouth, Nathan Petrelli, newly
elected US Congressman arrived on the scene via his
ability of flight, landing on the ground in between his
younger brother and daughter. "Yes there is Claire,"
Carefully, he lowered her gun with one movement on
his hand, "The future isn't written in stone." Turning
around, Nathan watched his brother carefully as Peter
spoke. "I took his power, Nathan. I can't control it." He
clenched his hands into tight fists, trying to control the
power he had absorbed from Ted Sprague. "I'm not leaving
you, Peter." Nathan admitted, approaching him. "There's
another way to end this, and you know it." Peter backed
away, not believing his brother's words. "But I can't let
you die!" Nathan gave him a soft smile, looking back at
Claire who was watching the two. "And I can't let everyone else."
He turned to look back at Peter, who was even further away,
his hands glowing even more brightly. "I...can't...control this!"
He yelled in frustration, falling to the floor on his knees. "I
love you Nathan," Before he could run over to fly Peter
away safely, the area around Peter started to decay, transforming
into a burnt wasteland, and before either one of the human beings
present at Kirby Plaza, Noah Bennet, Niki and D.L Sanders with
their son Micah, little Molly Walker or Mohinder Suresh could do
anything to stop it happening. He exploded.
So many remember that day as one of the worst catastrophes
the United States of America had ever suffered. .07 % of the
world's population died that night, and so many more injuries
were claimed that night as well.
None of the original heroes in Kirby Plaza survived. Not even
Claire Bennet with her re-generative blood. However, a small
fifteen year old girl with an enigmatic smile walks off the subway,
twiddling a bolt of electricity round in her hands. A blond male
is playing on his BlackBerry, whilst secretly clasping his hand
around his bottle of water, freezing it solid. A petite girl with
amber eyes clicks her fingers, and a newly lit fire appears in
her hand. A tall man runs his hand through the chilly air, whilst
sneakily absorbing any other abilities lying in the vicinity, and
a woman with a killer hairstyle touches a lamp-post, and
watches as the energy from the bulb is passed straight into
her blood-stream. These are the new generation of "Heroes".
These seemingly random people are the only ones who can
save us from the aftermath of the bomb. These people are the
key to the future.
these people are you.
In the depths of December, the Christmas season has
disappeared from the once cheerful atmosphere the city held
among its ruins. The snow that falls makes the damage done
even more worse, covering up many of the losses and awful
memories and the harsh winds make it appear as the world
is turning upside down on itself. Three weeks from now, a
memorial service is being held by the current President
George W. Bush. Among the sorrow that lies here, is a new
villain discovering his power? Around the corner a new hero
may be finding he can use his manifested ability for the good
of the world, to make sure nothing as tragic as this ever
happens again. Despite the unfortunate events, could you
save the world?
